Locarno Industry Academy

In a bid to further expand the international network for young talent from South Asia, NFDC Film Bazaar has launched the South Asia Locarno Industry Academy in partnership with Locarno Film Festival, that will be held online during the 15th edition of Film Bazaar from November 20-25, 2021.

Locarno Industry Academy is a training workshop for professionals from India and other South Asian countries belonging to the field of film festivals, exhibition, distribution, international sales and marketing. The aim is to deepen their knowledge of the film industry and build a network of contacts that will help them progress in their respective professions.



  • Daily sessions during Film Bazaar with high profile and prominent industry professionals from all over the world including sales agents, distributors, exhibitors, heads of marketing departments, festival programmers, producers who will provide them with the tools and the knowhow to navigate the challenges of the film industry and grow their network of contacts.
  • Case study presentations and informal discussions during which participants can directly interact and exchange opinions/ visions with their colleagues and guest speakers.
  • Access to knowledge series sessions where industry guests belonging to different facets of the film industry share the current trends, challenges and developments that our industry faces at large and the learnings from it.
  • Access to pitching sessions of the Co-Production and Screenwriters lab projects.
  • Opportunities to schedule business meetings and network with producers, distributors, sales agents, festival programmers attending virtual Film Bazaar from all over the world.

  • Eligible countries from which aspiring participants can submit their applications are: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
  • Applicant must be under 40 years

The application process is completely online. Email/hardcopy applications will not be accepted.

  • The applicant must either be a distributor, exhibitor, sales agent, festival programmer or a film marketing professional
  • To apply, you need to create a MyFilmBazaar Account first, in case you do not already have one
  • Once you have created your account, you will be directed to the South Asia Locarno Industry Academy’s online application form.
  • Applications will be considered complete only after payment of fee.

  • Applications to the Film Bazaar- Locarno Industry Academy can be submitted from October 1 to October 31, 2021.
  • The results of the selection process will be notified by e-mail on Monday, 8th November 2021.
