FILM BAZAAR

Film Bazaar was initiated by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) in 2007 and has evolved into South Asia’s global film market. It is organized every year alongside the prestigious International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. It is a converging point for South Asian and international filmmakers and film producers, sales agents, and festival programmers for potential creative and financial collaboration.

The 17th edition of Film Bazaar was held at the Marriott Resort, Goa between November 20 – 24, 2023.

TESTIMONIALS

“The Co-Production Market and Film Bazaar 2019 was wonderful. It gave me the opportunity to present my feature film to sales agents, distributors, production companies and producers I wouldn’t easily have access to within a very short time frame.”

Leon Cheo

Director, Feast, CPM 2019

“NFDC Film Bazaar has become the must-stop event for everyone interested in South Asian content and the Viewing Room is the tool that allows to better navigate this immensely rich and sometimes puzzling pool of potential gems.”

Paolo Bertolin

Venice Film Festival

“Both the Lab and Bazaar were amazing. Our project got into the Cinemart in Rotterdam, which would not have been possible without the development in the lab. We also had many useful meetings at the bazaar”

Ritesh Batra

Screenwriters’ Lab 2011

“It was our first-time last year. ‘Book to Box Office’ inspired us to start a content marketplace- ‘Booktainment.’ Within five days we were able to conduct 52 meetings in the Film Bazaar 2022.”

Parag Agarwal

Founder & CEO – Booktainment, Book to Box-office 2022

"Film Bazaar has become the largest South Asian Film market, connecting local film teams with global buyers and festival programmers. Over the course of the week, everything was going on at once. Not usually given such a fantastic opportunity to immerse myself in contemporary Indian cinema."

Kate Jinx

MIFF Programmer

“The festival becomes a major platform for business between India and World Producers and Distributers. Fantastic place to network, watch latest films and strike deals.”

Jakub Dzyunski

Gutek Films, Poland

“The Work-in-Progress Lab at NFDC Film Bazaar provided us a platform to present our film to a larger audience. The lab presented us with an opportunity to interact with mentors. The WIP Lab has proved to be one of the most important junctures for our film. I hope the lab continues to support independent filmmakers in the future as well.”
